I had the pleasure of attending the inaugural ANA event at INS in 2019, and I still remember the excitement I felt meeting colleagues with like-minded interest in serving the Asian population and advancing the field of neuropsychology for the Asian community. To watch so many people come together and help this organization grow over the past years has been absolutely delightful. The recent INS mid-year conference held in Taiwan, a country where I grew up, brought me
immense pride as well as renewed passion to connect with different communities and people to improve cross-cultural collaboration and research. It is an honor to be considered for the position of Treasurer-Elect, and I hope to do my part to help ANA grow even more.
Currently, I work as a clinical assistant professor and neuropsychologist within the Department of Psychiatry & Behavioral Sciences at Stanford University, and I was previously a neuropsychologist at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center (BIDMC) and an instructor at Harvard Medical School. Clinically, I conduct neuropsychological evaluation in both English and Mandarin. My dedication to diversity and cultural competency extends to research and education, and I serve on the ANA resource committee and conduct cross-cultural research in
neuropsychology and public health in Asian countries. I also thoroughly enjoy teaching and mentoring students; in my spare time, I teach as an adjunct professor at Palo Alto University, and I previously served as co-director of learning and education in the Neurology department at BIDMC.
If elected, in addition to serving as treasurer responsibly and with integrity, I hope to help facilitate communication between international communities across the globe to promote opportunities for resource development and cross-cultural collaboration and research. I also aim to support mentorship and training in culturally sensitive neuropsychology practice for trainees. Thank you for this opportunity.
