ANA 2024 Elections

The call for nominations for ANA 2024 Elections is now open until October 27 at 4pm CST. We are seeking nominations for 3 positions: Member-at-Large (North American), Secretary, and Trainee Representative Elect. Responsibilities for each position are below.

We are seeking nominations of candidates willing to lead and serve our growing and thriving organization. 

  • All ANA professional members are eligible for nomination for Member-at-Large and Secretary Positions.
  • Nominees for the Trainee Representative Elect position must be in a formal training position (e.g., graduate student, pre-doctoral intern, or post-doctoral fellow) through at least summer 2027. If you have specific questions about eligibility for the Trainee Representative position, please reach out to the current Trainee Representative at Erin.Kaseda@my.rfums.org
  • You can either self-nominate or nominate another member for these positions.
  • All ANA members are eligible to vote.
  • Terms will begin in February 2025.

To submit an application/nomination, please send the following to the ANA Membership Committee (membership@the-ana.org) with the email subject heading “ATT: Application for Elections 2024” by October 27 at 4pm CST.

  1. Curriculum Vitae
  2. A professional headshot to be used in election related material and the ANA website
    • The image should be in high resolution, 300 dpi of image size 1 MB or up
  3. A brief manifesto of how the candidate/nominee will contribute to the mission of the ANA
    • The brief manifesto must be submitted in .docx format and must not be over 300 words long

Candidates cannot imply any endorsement in their statements.

member-at-large (north american)

  • 2-year term from 2/2025 to 2/2027
  • Members-at-Large will assist in the general operation of the ANA and its business and affairs with duties including, but not limited to, the coordination and execution of the activities of its various Committees (e.g. Membership, Resource, Media, Advocacy, Education) and Special Interest Groups. This includes monthly check-ins with the committees.
  • They will facilitate collaboration between committees and the Executive Committee to ensure appropriate dissemination of Association resources and communication about standardization of procedures.
  • They serve as liaisons to the general membership.
  • They are voting members of the Executive Committee. There are two Member-at-Large positions within the Executive Committee (North American and International), with staggered start dates for their terms.

  • 2-year term from 2/2025 to 2/2027
  • The Secretary shall keep record of all proceedings of meetings of the Association and of the Executive Committee. 
  • They shall provide summaries of all official meetings of the Association. Summaries shall be presented to the Executive Committee and disseminated to the Association. 
  • They are responsible for safe keeping and transmitting all documents and papers which come to their possession. 
  • They may also perform the duties of the Treasurer in the absence of a Treasurer. The Secretary shall be a voting member of the Executive Committee.
trainee representative elect
  • 3-year term from 2/2025 to 2/2028
  • The Trainee Representative will serve on the Student Committee as Chair Elect for one year (2/2025-2/2026), and on the Executive Committee as the Trainee Representative and Student Committee Chair for two years (2/2026-2/2028).
  • The Trainee Representative will work to promote the professional development and international collaboration of ANA trainee members from undergraduates to post-doctoral fellows.
  • They will facilitate collaboration between the Student Committee and the Executive Committee on issues relevant to trainee members.
  •  They are a voting member of the Executive Committee during the last two years of their term (2/2026-2/2028).
Voting procedure: Each ANA member will receive an e-ballot in their email on November 04, 2024 that includes a link to cast your vote using ElectionBuddy (online voting platform). The e-ballot link is unique to each member. Voting will take place from 11/4/2024 until 12/8/2024.  Please contact the Membership Committee at membership@the-ana.org for any questions or concerns.
