Community Corner – February 2022

We are highlighting two topics of interest (1) self-care and (2) Process to self-nominate for the Minnesota 2022 Conference at-large applicant.

Several people have expressed an interest in applying to be a delegate to the Minnesota 2022 Conference to update the Houston Conference Guidelines Revision Planning Commission (HCGRPC) later this year. Besides being nominated from each of the seventeen neuropsychology organizations represented on the HCGRPC, beginning on February 16, 2022, the HCGRPC will begin receiving self-nominations to serve as at-large delegates to the conference with an application completion deadline of March 15, 2022.

Organizational and self-nominated at-large applicants will be reviewed based on several variables, including ethnic/racial/cultural diversity, practice area (e.g., pediatric or lifespan vs. adult), instructional/training focus (e.g., graduate school, internship, fellowship), and other factors to build a delegate group that is broadly representative of clinical neuropsychology practice and education. There will be approximately 50 delegates selected in total, with at least 34 of those delegates being nominated through neuropsychology organizations. Applicants will be notified of their selection as delegates in early April 2022.

If you are an ANA member interested in serving as a delegate for the Minnesota 2022 Conference, we strongly encourage you to submit a self-nomination to serve as an at-large delegate starting on February 16. Any individual not selected as an organizational delegate will still be considered for an at-large delegate position and does not need to submit two applications. After months of hard work and dedication, we are coming towards the end of a busy internship/postdoctoral application, interview, and ranking process.

Here are some great resources to encourage self-compassion and self-care in stressful times.

  1. Ways to de-stress during and after the match
  1. Ways to overcome fear of failure
